I'll merge the comments for your J-Rock pictures in one post here:
- slightly underexpose the ambient light - it's blown in a lot of shots, overpowering your flash, letting the light leak onto the performer. - slanted pictures are horribly gimmicky unless there is a 'grounding line' which is parallel to the borders - I like the 'dawn' light shots. Good one catching them! - flash is mostly underexposed - I like the "lots of equipment" shot - the smoke shots turned out either very well or very wrong-timing
